    Ever since the Sichuan earthquake, I have always been fearful and worried that I might someday be struck by disaster. Particularly as I’ve seen disasters escalating, and earthquakes becoming more frequent, my fear of impending doom has become even more pronounced. As a result, I spend whole days pondering what precautions I should take to protect myself should an earthquake hit.

    One day, at lunch, the sister of my host family turned on the TV as usual, and the newscaster just happened to be talking about earthquake safety measures. In the event of an earthquake, you should quickly run outdoors into an open space to avoid being injured by a falling building. If you cannot evacuate in time, you should hide under a bed, table or in a corner…. After hearing this, I felt as though I found a life-saving solution, and quickly committed these precautionary measures to memory, so I could save my own life in case an earthquake hit.

The Vision of God’s Work (1)

    Almighty God says, John worked seven years for Jesus, and had already paved the way when Jesus arrived. Before this, the gospel of the kingdom of heaven preached by John was heard throughout the land, so that it spread across Judea, and everyone called him a prophet. At the time, King Herod wished to kill John, yet he did not dare, for the people held John in high regard, and Herod feared that if he killed John they would revolt against him. The work done by John took root among the common people, and he made believers of the Jews. For seven years he paved the way for Jesus, right up until the time that Jesus began to perform His ministry. And so, John was the greatest of all the prophets. Jesus only began His official work after the imprisonment of John.

    Almighty God says, Your work and entry are quite poor; man does not place importance on work and is even more careless with entry. Man does not regard these as lessons that they ought to enter into; therefore, in their spiritual experience, virtually all man sees is fantastical illusions. Not very much is asked of you in terms of your experience in work, but, as one to be perfected by God, you ought to learn to work for God so that you may soon be after God’s heart. Throughout the ages, those who did work have been called workers or apostles, which refers to a small number of people used by God. However, the work I speak of today does not refer solely to those workers or apostles; it is directed toward all those to be perfected by God. Perhaps there are many who have little interest in this, but, for the sake of entry, it would be best to discuss this truth.

California, USA Joint Efforts to Promote Worldwide Freedom of Belief at Freedom of Religion Seminar

In spite of the fact that freedom of religion is a universal value, there are people in some countries and regions who not only lack this freedom and right, but even continue to suffer from persecution as well as unjust prosecution or imprisonment. February 15, 2018, a seminar with the theme of “Religious Liberty as a Global Problem” was convened at the University Club of the University of Southern California. The purpose of this event was to further mutual understanding between different religious groups and jointly promote freedom of religion. In attendance were well-known religion experts, religious studies professors, as well as delegates of various religious groups from countries such as the USA, Italy, France, and Mexico, totaling over 20 participants. Christians from The Church of Almighty God were also invited to participate.

On February 18, 2018, precisely during a traditional Chinese holiday—Spring Festival—Christians from The Church of Almighty God in France held a New Year’s celebration with the theme of “gratitude” in the parish activity center of the Saint-Germain Church in Vitry-sur-Seine, Paris. This was the first local New Year’s event hosted by these Christians since being forced to flee to France after suffering brutal oppression by the Chinese government. They wanted to use this opportunity to extend their thanks to their French friends who had helped them and shown their concern. The event also provided an excellent platform for those in attendance to further understand the truth of the persecution of Christians from The Church of Almighty God by the Chinese government.
