As is well known, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) seized power through lies and violence, and it relies on lies and violence to maintain its power. The CCP’s rule is nothing but lies, violence, and murder. The CCP propagates atheism, regarding religion as the spiritual opium of the people. Christians preach the gospel and witness for God to carry out God’s will, but the CCP condemns such righteous deeds as abandoning and breaking up their families, and arrests and imprisons Christians on various false charges. In mainland China, Christians from various house churches, particularly from CAG, suffer brutal oppression and persecution for the sake of their religious belief, some of whom were left disabled or died. Many Christians have gone into exile and were rendered homeless with their families scattered. Countless Christian families have been thus broken! In this episode, we have invited Professor Massimo Introvigne, an Italian scholar of new religious movements, founder and managing director of Center for Studies on New Religions, to talk about why the CCP oppresses and persecutes The Church of Almighty God, whether the CCP’s accusations against The Church of Almighty God are true, and who is the main culprit behind the breakdown of Christian families, and so on.     On March 1, 2018, during the 37th session of the Human Rights Council at the United Nations in Geneva, the Coordination of the Associations and Individuals for Freedom of Conscience (CAP LC) organized a Side Event on the denial of religious freedom in China and the case of The Church of Almighty God. Prof. Massimo Introvigne, a well-known Italian scholar of new religious movements and managing director of CESNUR (Center for Studies on New Religions), made a presentation in the event.

    On March 24, 2018, a Volunteer event organized by Retake Roma (a volunteer organization) took place in Rome, Italy’s Bellini Middle School. A notable part of this event was the appearance of Chinese Christians from The Church of Almighty God. They worked alongside Retake Roma volunteers, students, and parents to beautify the campus, making a joint effort to create a wonderful learning environment for students as well as more space for activities.

On February 18, 2018, precisely during a traditional Chinese holiday—Spring Festival—Christians from The Church of Almighty God in France held a New Year’s celebration with the theme of “gratitude” in the parish activity center of the Saint-Germain Church in Vitry-sur-Seine, Paris. This was the first local New Year’s event hosted by these Christians since being forced to flee to France after suffering brutal oppression by the Chinese government. They wanted to use this opportunity to extend their thanks to their French friends who had helped them and shown their concern. The event also provided an excellent platform for those in attendance to further understand the truth of the persecution of Christians from The Church of Almighty God by the Chinese government.

    On January 4, 2018, according to the U.S. State Department, pursuant to the 1998 International Religious Freedom Act, China is re-designated as a “Country of Particular Concern.” This is also the nineteenth consecutive year that China is included in the “Country of Particular Concern” list.
